The Use of Affirmations As Positive Brainwashing

Brainwashing is a term perceived in a negative way by most people. But you know what; I think our brains could actually do with a bit of a wash sometimes!

You see, everyone comes into this world with a clear mind, and a belief that everything is possible. All is positive and well. Remember as a child, you could do and become everything, without any boundaries! As we grow up however, we pick up beliefs, fears and limitations from our surroundings and peers that gradually form the person we are today. A lot of these beliefs unfortunately are negative and as we build our lives they limit us in our actions and being. Very often they therefore contribute to unhappiness or feeling unfulfilled in our lives and business. It can be the smallest –seemingly harmless- remark from a mother like “just let me handle that, you are no good at that” that can convince you that you are not good at a certain task. A teacher who calls a pupil “the clumsy one” can do more harm with this remark than he realizes when repeated often enough. With every remark the belief is harnessed further in the child that it indeed is clumsy. Even though a remark is said with a smile or with the intent to be funny, it still leaves a legacy in the belief system.

This programming of course doesn’t stop at adulthood; it keeps influencing people in all stages of life. We are being influenced by our parents, kids, partner, friends, colleagues, television, newspapers, and magazines and so on. Sometimes in a positive, but very often in a negative way. No wonder we limit ourselves in so many ways! Belief is the key to your success. If you belief you can do something, you can. If you belief you can’t do something, you will be right too.

The good news is: we can reprogram our mind and replace our negative, limiting beliefs for positive contributing ones. Positive brainwashing is what I like to call it! This can be done by the use of so called affirmations.

An affirmation is a positive self talk statement, stated in the present tense that covers a goal you want to achieve and that ‘overrules’ negative beliefs towards that goal.

An example is “I easily do 10 sales calls a day”. Or “I am an excellent negotiator”. By stating this affirmation regularly during your day, you will achieve the goal you have set for yourself easier. This positive self talk helps your mind to overcome beliefs that you have about yourself, that limit your success and actions. Compare our mind with a computer: when you change the input, the output will change accordingly. So if you have the limiting belief that you are no good in public speaking (probably because of negative experiences in the past) you can actually reprogram your mind by stating the following affirmation: “ I am an excellent public speaker. I love to speak for huge audiences and people love to hear me talk”. By affirming this belief over and over, you actually start to believe it and your mind will find a way to make this statement a reality. At some stage, you might decide to do a course in public speaking, or someone might ask you to speak at some kind of seminar, which forces you to work on your speaking skills. Somehow, these affirmations help you to reach the goal you have set for yourself and open doors for you that would otherwise have been kept closed. And this works for virtually everything.

Belief and it will happen.

Imagine standing for a big river, with a heavy stream. You have to cross it, but you don’t think you can actually do it. Your belief is keeping you from crossing, although you physically should be able to do it easily. It just looks too hard! Then someone else comes up from behind you, and without thinking starts crossing the river and gets to the other side. His belief was positive, and he knew he could do it. The interesting thing is that this will probably influence your belief: “if he can do it, I can do it too” and you will then cross the river without any problem at all. Similar things happen when a group of people is introduced to the phenomenon of fire walking. At first a big group of people will say that there is no way they will walk on fire. Until…other people with higher beliefs go first, then all of a sudden everyone else rushes over to do it as well.

So think about YOUR beliefs, and try to discover which belief are actually holding you back from reaching your full potential in your life. Then, one by one, start eliminating these beliefs from your system. Formulate an affirmation that counters your negative belief, and re affirm it daily. Write them in your diary, on your bathroom mirror, next to your computer; anywhere you see it often and say the affirmation out loud as often as possible. You will be happily surprised by the results!

Another powerful way to manifest your goals is by visualizing them. By looking at a picture of your goal or dream daily with a strong desire, you will start attracting them in your life. A brilliant visualization tool that can help you to create and maintain your affirmations and visualizations in a very powerful way is a software program called Vision Board.

Use this fantastic tool to create a Vision Board with self chosen pictures and your personally formulated affirmations, which will help you to achieve the goals you have set in your life or business!

I was fortunate to discover positive affirmations at a young age.It is advisable to repeat affirmations that are not too long, as they are easier to remember. When I was a youngster, I went through a phase where I was interested in psychic power development.

If affirmations change us and change the way we interpret events and life in general, than this could be the key to our happiness: positive affirmations, positive interpretations. There are a bunch of studies proving that a positive attitude and being surrounded with people with a positive attitude makes people go through their weight loss journey, for example.

Internet identity theft protection, How can you stop online identity theft from affecting you The Internet is still a fairly new technological advancement that has greatly simplified our lives by providing unlimited access to all sorts of information and services. It hasn’t taken long, however, for identity theft criminals to find ways to use the Internet for online identity theft illegal purposes. One of the fastest growing Internet crimes is Internet identity theft. Identity thieves are constantly perfecting their methods of snatching vital personal information from innocent, unknowing Internet users. There are many different ways Internet identity theft thieves can access information that may be stored on your computer’s hard drive. This sensitive computer data can include your name, user names and passwords for financial or shopping websites, and even your credit card number. One of the most common methods of Internet identity theft is stealing this information by installing spyware on your computer, without your knowledge. Spyware programs, once installed, gather information from the temporary files on your computer and record your internet activity, relaying all of this data back to the criminal. Computer identity theft can devastate your financial stability. Once a criminal has their hands on your personal information, they can use the credit cards and bank accounts you already have in place, and may open new accounts in your name. Many internet identity theft victims have suffered from cell phones, credit cards, car loans, and sometimes even home mortgages being taken out in their name, without their knowledge. How Can I Prevent Myself From Becoming a Victim of Internet Identity Theft? People are becoming more and more aware of computer identity theft as the crime continues to grow. It is important for both new internet users and those who are experienced surfers to take extra preventive identity theft measures to protect themselves from falling victim to the silent crime of online identity theft. Each time businesses and consumers find ways to stop these criminals; they invent new Internet identity theft methods to continue their crimes. There are a few basic steps you can take to protect yourself from becoming the next computer identity theft victim. Most importantly, remember to never give out your personal information, account numbers, or passwords unless you initiated the transaction. If you receive an email or phone call requesting any of this sensitive data, do not reply. Instead call the business making the request or log directly into their website to be sure it is a legitimate action, not an internet identity theft attempt. Even if you are threatened to have your accounts closed, refuse to give out your personal data. Report any suspicious calls or emails to the business it supposedly originated from so it can be investigated. You should also monitor your credit cards and bank accounts on a regular basis to catch any peculiar actions before the problem becomes worse. Use the most current operating system on your computer and always run compatible anti-spyware, virus protection, and firewall software, especially while online. Be sure you keep these programs up to date and secure your wireless internet connections. Identifying Internet Phishing Scams Internet phishing scams are one of the leading perpetrators of online identity theft. These scams usually come in the form of an official looking email from a familiar financial institution or website that you may hold an account with, like EBay or PayPal. Inside the email, you will typically find a clickable link with a request asking you to confirm your account number or update your password. Clicking this link will take you to a website that closely resembles the website of the business the email claims to be from. If you enter your personal information into this cloned site, it will be sent directly to a thief and you will soon be another of the millions of victims of internet identity theft. Here are a few tips that may protect you from becoming a victim of computer identity theft: · Use good anti-spam, anti-adware, and anti-spyware programs on your computer and keep them running whenever the computer is connected to the internet. · Install a firewall. · Avoid clicking on pop-up ads and never enter any personal information on the websites these ads lead to. · Do not click on links in emails unless they are from a trusted sender. · Keep your anti-virus software up to date and current. · Stay informed and educated about the most recent computer identity theft trends and methods. Avoiding Internet Identity Theft If you are not already running an internet security suite, you should first erase your prior internet activity. In your internet browser, click the tools tab and then options to clear the history as well as any cookies. For the best protection from computer identity theft, set the options to erase these each day. Find a reliable and reputable internet security program that includes a dependable firewall, anti-spyware software, and a spam filter for email. You can also find software with web filters to block out any websites known to be a part of phishing scams. These simple suggestions can prevent you from becoming the next Internet identity theft victim. Affirmations for success are positive statements that you can write and say out loud to bring up positive changes in your life. Our lives are directed and influenced by the constant thoughts going through our minds. These thoughts can be about ourselves, our relationships, our health, our prosperity, our success, our home, the foods we eat, the clutter in our closet, the traffic, the weather and many other forms.
