According to Bob Proctor in the Science of Getting Rich, about 3% fall in the M2 category. People in this category know or learn how to save. The more enterprising ones buy shares and stocks by saving a bit from their hard earned salary. The lucky ones, those who do manage to earn interest and income on their savings do so at the expense of living. A few mouthfuls less, maybe. Making do with two pairs of trousers. Always trying to cut corners. This is not what I would call living a full life. Not something which nature had designed for us. Now we are talking about the folks who did well in their stocks. There are those and let me tell you many of us fall in this category, lose our hard earned income in some fancy financial scheme. At the end of it all we feel cheated and depressed. It is better to leave investments to professionals, who know what they are doing.

What is happening to the M2 people is that they are here nor there. They want to live a good life but always in the future. They never have now and here. The bird they envy is always in the horizon. Something which they look forward to in the later part of their life. They spoil an excellent present by looking forever into the future. Life is to be lead in the present. Here and now. The secret of joy is to live in the present. By sacrificing the present you are becoming a slave of the future. Now, that is not the way we are meant to live. Scrounging and saving.

There has to be a better way. We all feel this intuitively. We know we have to break out of the shackles and fly into the glorious present. We have to turn this intuition into a reality. The Science of Getting Rich rightly points out that the only way to do this is to follow the principles of M3.
