You must have used the New Age version of Holy Scripture aka "The Message" because that verse you gave is not even close to the actual scripture, and you only used a fraction of the actual verse and took it out of context, this happens a lot. Please read Prov. 23:1-9 in a better version like the NKJV or the NIV to get the correct context. This verse and the surrounding verses are telling you the vanity of material wealth and to not desire anything from a rich and greedy person, in this case a "ruler" like a king, because even thought he says "eat and drink" he dosent really mean it, because he thinks like a miser even though he says the opposite. Did you catch that? He thinks like a miser but says he is generous, but because he thinks like a miser, he is one despite what he says. Have you ever been in the company of such people?- it is horrible. Murderers think of ways to kill people, thieves think of ways to steel, etc. but which of these kinds of people advertise what they really are? Do murderers attract thoes who want to be murdered or the thief attract the sucker that wants to be robbed? Am I deniging the existance of the Law of Attraction? No. It surely exists just as the law of gravity or the laws of motion. But all known laws are limited or superseeded by greater or opposing laws such as the Law of Lift for gravity and friction for the Law of Motion. God's soverignty puts limits on the Law of Attraction, and I am glad HE does, or else you would be saluting a red flag with a bent black cross in it right now, mindlessly chanting "Ziek Heil!". We shouldn't live by the Law of Attraction, it is selfish like the greedy ruler in this scripture; Christians are told to live by the Law of Love, not the Law of Attraction, the Law of Love is far better, if only we all would obey our Lord Jesus!
